At BAFCO, we think that doing well as a company also means doing good. And so we try to do our part, chipping in for causes we care about.
All as One (Charity)
All As One saves the lives of orphaned and abandoned children in Freetown, Sierra Leone. In a nation where thousands of children are left to survive on their own, All As One is a vibrant Children's Center for 75 to 85 infants and children. They provide these kids with a home, three meals a day, an on-site school, medical care, counseling, and most of all...a family.
When All as One decided to open an an regional office in Dubai, BAFCO is fortunate enough to have assisted in donated their office furniture requirement in Dubai Humanitarian City. To know more about All as One, visit www.allasone.org
Now a premier and regular event in the BAFCO's calendar, every year we participate and join the Pink Walkathon to help support this very worthy cause, aimed at raising funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
The most recent Pink Walkathon included a wider range of activities that made the event a much more exciting endeavour, complete with a group drumming session, musical entertainment throughout the duration of the walk, face painting, balloon benders and other fun activities.
We built our first ever recycled boat made mostly of plastic bottles. Not only did we enjoy and compete with other companies, but we have also donated and helped Emirates Environmental Group in raising awareness about recycling.
For more than 10 years, Bafco has always partnered and supported Humanscale for their ergonomic products in the Middle East Region.
Humanscale excels in developing products that—compared to others in the same class—consume less of the Earth’s limited resources.
This is accomplished by creating designs that:
Weigh less, requiring less raw material
Use fewer parts and manufacturing processes
Contain a high percentage of recycled content
Contain a high percentage of recyclable content
Whenever possible, Humanscale uses aluminum as its material of choice. The aluminum used is 100% recycled and recyclable. It never degrades, so it can be reused over and over again. And because recyclers are paid a premium for aluminum scrap, we believe that the aluminum in the products will almost surely be recycled when the time comes. Using aluminum usually costs us more than plastics or other alternatives, but the ergonomic products are better for it. And so is the environment.
In addition to supporting sustainability through superior design, Humanscale is a major contributor to and maintains an active partnership with World Wildlife Fund.
